Heritage

Where Old Meets New

The very word "heritage" is what gives Oakville its unique character and this extends to the land that Rain is situated on. In the early 1900s, the Smiths, who were Scottish immigrants, settled on Kerr Street.

They built two homes that flanked an 11-acre apple orchard stretching east to Sixteen Mile Creek. To commemorate what is now known as the "Old Smith Houses," both homes have been resurrected as monumental icons at the entranceway of Rain - a fitting nod to those aspiring pioneers of yesteryear, and to Rain, poised to become an iconic building in its own right.

Urban Square

Let Rain Reawaken Your Senses

Outside, a public urban square has been incorporated into Rain's design to attract locals and provide opportunities for community gatherings and celebrations. To accentuate the space, landscape designer Patrick Bollenberghe of The MBTW Group has created an idyllic courtyard garden filled with perennials, scented flowering shrubs, canopy trees, pedestrian walkways, and seating areas.
